Warm Sweet Potato Smoothie

Skipping those nutrient-dense smoothies just because it’s cold outside? Scratch that! Serve your blended creations HOT instead! Just combine warming anti-inflammatory spices with a straight-out-of-the-oven sweet potato and then top with superfoods and banana coins! Pour into a glass (or bowl) to warm your body + soul!

INGREDIENTS

Serves 1

6 ounces plant-based milk  (I use the Nutramilk*)
1/2 cooked (and heated) medium sweet potato
1 heaping tablespoon almond butter
½-inch piece fresh turmeric
½-inch piece fresh ginger
½-1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon flax meal
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
Pinch of sea salt
Drop of maple (optional)

Toppings: sautéed banana slices, cacao nibs, goji berries, hemp seeds

METHOD

Sauté banana coins in coconut oil until golden around the edges. Set aside.

Add the remaining ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until creamy, adjusting liquid to desired thickness. Pour into a bowl and top with goji berries, cacao nibs, hemp seeds, a dash of cinnamon, and banana coins!
