How to Make Food Choices that Support Your Mind, Body and Spirit

Have you ever thought about bringing the philosophy and mindfulness of yoga into the kitchen? Even if you don’t consider yourself a yogi, you can still embrace a yogic lifestyle beyond the four corners of a mat.

Internationally celebrated yoga couple and authors of The Yoga Plate, Tamal and Victoria Dodge, believe that yoga is so much more than the physical poses, and its teachings can guide us to create a conscious approach to the way we eat and live.

Born and raised on an Ashram, Tamal grew up following the yoga diet and has never eaten any meat, fish, or eggs in his entire life. Victoria, on the other hand, spent her childhood in the heart of Wisconsin with cheese, meat, and potatoes making up the core of her family’s typical American diet. Despite their very different backgrounds, yoga brought Tamal and Victoria together back in 2006.

Now, the yoga lifestyle is infused in everything Tamal and Victoria do, including the meals they make in their kitchen. Based on the concept of ahimsa (inflict the least amount of harm), Tamal and Victoria created their cookbook to inspire others to care for their bodies and the world around them by choosing food that is good for you and the planet, too.

You don’t have to be a vegan or vegetarian to experiment with their plant-based recipes. They are for anyone who wants to nourish themselves on a truly deep level… physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
