Apple Dessert Nachos
Transform the everyday apple into a fun and nutrient-dense dessert by loading the slices with toppings! This easy to make dish doesn’t even require an oven. Use these suggestions as inspiration to get creative with your dessert nachos. Drizzle some nut butter and melted chocolate, then top it off with nuts, seeds, and dried fruit of choice.
INGREDIENTS
2 apples, cored & sliced into rounds or thin wedges
¼ cup nut butter, warmed (divide in half if adding melted chocolate too)
¼ cup dark chocolate or chocolate chips, melted (divide in half if using nut butter too)
Topping ideas:
granola
shredded coconut
freeze dried berries
dried fruit (cranberries, cherries, raisins, goji berries)
nuts (sliced almonds, chopped walnuts, chopped pecans, crushed pistachios)
seeds (hemp, flax, sunflower, pumpkin)
dash of cinnamon

METHOD
Slice and core the apples into rounds or thin wedges. Melt the chocolate. Warm the nut butter. Spread the apple slices or rounds onto a plate. Drizzle the melted chocolate and warmed nut butter. Add toppings of choice and eat immediately!
