Blackberry Beet Brain-Boosting Smoothie

A brain-boosting and energizing blend that can’t be BEET! With blackberries, fresh beets, spinach, and avocado too, it’s filled with key nutrients to help you feel focused AND upBEET! (Enough with the beet puns, I know!)

INGREDIENTS

Serves 1

6-8 ounces of cashew or almond milk, or to desired consistency
1 cup spinach, loosely packed
¼ avocado
1 ½ cups frozen blackberries (or berries of choice)
1 small beet, peeled and roughly chopped*
pinch of sea salt
splash of vanilla (if not using vanilla protein)
1 scoop protein powder or collagen
OPTIONAL: one tablespoon hemp seeds for more brain-boosting benefits!

*For easier blending and a milder flavor, roast or boil the beet ahead of time.

METHOD

Add the nut milk and spinach to a high speed blender. Blend until smooth. Add in the remaining ingredients and blend into a thick and creamy consistency. Top with a sprinkling of granola, cacao nibs, fresh berries, or any other nutritional boosts.
