Feel “Good Enough” For The Holidays & Always

good-enough-manifesto-framedA client came to me and said, "It's all downhill from here.  With the candy in the house and the signs of the holidays around the corner, I'm doomed.  I never end up feeling good about myself. Ever."

She got me thinking: this is supposed to be the season of celebration and joy, yet so many of us end up being overwhelmed and in a state of stress... and generally dissatisfied with ourselves. In short, we end up not feeling good enough.

I want to help you get back to what the holidays are really about ---peace, ease and plain old fun. Living with the pressure of being "perfect",  or even just the pursuit of it, affects our sleep, our hormones, our waistlines, and most importantly, our relationships & quality of life.

That's why I created this little gift for you (drumroll, please)...

I call it: The GOOD ENOUGH Manifesto.

It's an illustrated bundle of mantras for everything in your life - from food to stress to loving yourself. Try focusing on ONE idea every day, and applying it to your self. Start now..which one pops for you? (Mine: Be deliciously kind to yourself.)

Make it your screensaver, the background on your desktop or phone, or print it out and hang it on your fridge, bathroom mirror, car dashboard. Post it anywhere you like, as long as you use it as a daily reminder that you are GOOD ENOUGH. Every single day.

    Oh Elise. So well done. So many of the mantras call me but the one that sticks out is: Control is an illusion!!! I have always questioned the balance between visualizing what you want (aka the law of attraction) and surrender. I find visualizing without surrender comes from fear and lack…a wanting to control. It’s taken me a long time to learn this but when it finally sinks in, it’s the path of freedom, peace…and ironically…getting what is truly meant for you.

    Love the mantras, and love that you’ve addressed this topic too, Elise. Over the years I’ve seen clients really struggle at this time of the year. If it’s not their own thoughts playing havoc with them, it’s their relatives putting pressure on them… and then it starts to snowball from there. I’ve put many “holiday packs” together for them to help them stay positive and be able to truly celebrate this time of the year. Awesome, Elise!

    Especially the your 80% is most peoples 200%….. My friends and family have been telling me this for YEARS! Yet I am continuously super hard on myself! It doesn’t really get me anywhere being so hard on myself… Just gotta let go of that (easier said than done) through some healthy perspective shifting. Thanks!

      Court, I hear you and get it. It’s pretty hard to let go when you have had painfully high standards most of your life. I find that baby steps are the most effective pace:).
